Marco Dorado
Marco Dorado represents the enduring impact of LAEF’s mission in action.
As an LAEF alumnus, Marco has transformed opportunity into leadership. Today, as Managing Director of Communities Lead Communities Thrive, he works to remove systemic barriers to funding and strengthen capacity across Colorado’s nonprofit sector.
His work is rooted in equity, access, and community — ensuring that organizations serving historically underrepresented communities have the resources they need to succeed.
Marco’s journey reflects the full circle of LAEF’s vision: investing in students who go on to lead, uplift others, and create meaningful change. His leadership is not only a reflection of his own успех, but a commitment to ensuring others have the same opportunity to thrive.
Nancy Urrutia Perez
Nancy Urrutia Perez embodies the resilience, courage, and determination that define LAEF scholars.
After coming to the United States on her own as a teenager, Nancy faced immense challenges. Yet through her perseverance — and with the support of LAEF and MSU Denver — she found not only opportunity, but a sense of belonging and familia.
Her journey is deeply rooted in strength. With her brother also part of the LAEF scholar community, Nancy’s story reflects the collective resilience and interconnected support that define our comunidad.
Nancy represents the spirit of ganas — the drive to keep moving forward, even in the face of adversity. She is a powerful example of what is possible when students are supported, believed in, and given the opportunity to succeed.
